SNL's Kenan Thompson Shares His Kanye West Experience

October 3, 2018

On Monday's edition of The Late Night Show With Seth Meyers, comedian Kenan Thompson stopped by show to discuss his experience when musical guest Kanye West had his infamous off-camera rant.

Despite not having much screen time on Saturday's season premiere episode, Thompson said he was able to watch "the circus unfold." Referring to West stopping his show-ending performance and began to voice his opinions on slavery, liberalism and his full support of President Donald Trump.

Thompson said SNL is in "the service business" who tries to make it fair for all and without judging the hosts and musical guests who "might be crazy."

"I don't know if that's the moment, necessarily, to hold people hostage like that." the comedian said.

Thompson also said he felt bad for those guys who were trapped on-stage. "It's hard to stand there and not be able to debate somebody who is going so far against your personal opinion as well and just stand there and take it."
