Griselda Blanco was a notorious Colombian drug lord of the Medellín Cartel and one of the early distributors of cocaine in the Miami area back in the '80s. Her story might be told on the silver screen with a biopic starring Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez has expressed a strong interest to bring the story of the female drug cartel boss to life when in a statement said "I’ve been forever fascinated by the story of Griselda Blanco and jumped at the chance to play her on-screen,"

She adds "She is all things we look for in storytelling and dynamic characters – notorious, ambitious, conniving, chilling."

J-Lo is set to star in the upcoming exotic dancer/heist movie Hustlers, along with Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B and Constance Wu of Crazy Rich Asians fame.

This role would bring a new dynamic to Lopez' acting career and she's excited to take on the gangster movie genre. "In a genre dominated by legendary kingpins, I’m eager to shine a spotlight on this anti-hero and excited to partner with STX for the third time so we can bring this compelling, complicated story to life," she said.

Blanco's son Michael Corleon Blanco announced the news on his Instagram and want's to be involved as a consultant.

He may get that opportunity.
