Kodak Black Indicted on Sexual Assault Charges

Charges filed on behalf of a South Carolina teenager

October 11, 2017

It seems as though rapper Kodak Black has found himself in more legal trouble. According to reports from various media outlets, the 20-year-old has been indicted on first degree sexual assault charges.

The charges reportedly stem from an alleged incident in South Carolina last year, while the rapper was in town for a concert. The local TV station says Black is charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a Comfort Inn and Suites back in February 2016. The teen first reported the incident to her school nurse, and that's when the school stepped in and alerted authorities.

If convicted on these charges, he faces up to 30 years in prison. Kodak's attorney and record label have not commented, other than to say they aware of the indictment and believe it to be "the normal process of the pending case."

The Florida native is no stranger to trouble, having been released from prison earlier this year after violating his house arrest. He was released after about a month behind bars for both time served and for completing a life skills course.
