Damon Wayans Leaving Fox's 'Lethal Weapon'

October 3, 2018

After replacing the show's lead actor Clayne Crawford with Seann William Scott in the third season of Fox' Lethal Weapon, comedian Damon Wayans says he will no longer be part of the series.

Wayans signed on for three seasons of the television series based on the movie franchise made popular by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in the late 80's and early 90's.

"I am going to be quitting the show in December, after we finish the initial 13. So, I really don't know what they're planning but that's what I'm planning," Wayans said during an interview with Electronic Urban Report.

Wayans adds "I'm a 58-year-old diabetic and I'm working 16-hour days,"

It's not known whether Fox will pick up the series for a fourth season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show's producers and Warner Bros. TV declined their request for a comment.

The third season of Lethal Weapon began on September 25th.
