Beats By Dr. Dre Is The Official Headphone To The NBA

A major deal has been cut between Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and the National Basketball Association. Beats By Dr. Dre will be the official headphone, wireless speaker and audio partner for the NBA, WNBA and USA Basketball, according to Billboard.

The deal opens up a vast marketing opportunities for Apple-supported artists like . Anderson .Paak, whose music is featured on Apple's HomePod ads.

It also bumps up exposure for Beats with the NBA's roster of pitchmen including Golden State Warrior Draymond Green, NBA stars LeBron James,  James Harden, Ben Simmons, Jayson Tatum and Karl-Anthony Towns.

The Beats By Dre deal also opens opportunities to work with the individual teams to launch products, branding at the local level and more.

In 2014, Apple Inc. acquired the headphone company in a monumental deal with music icons, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine for $3 billion and change.
