A message of unity has been spreading throughout the music industry since Friday night, with labels, artists, and others ingrained into the fabric of the entertainment business sharing their own takes on the need for change and the desperate need for communities to come together to accelerate such a dramatic cultural shift.

Using the hashtag #TheShowMustBePaused, many are planning a media blackout on Tuesday, June 2, and call for “a day to disconnect from work and reconnect with our community” as well as “an urgent step of action to provoke accountability and change” following the death of another unarmed black man, George Floyd, at the hands of Minneapolis police which has sparked nationwide protests.

You can view a sampling of the messages being put out by record labels, distribution companies, artist management, and live music production companies - all coming together in solidarity with a focus on taking a step back, pressing the pause button, and reconnecting with their local communities.
