June 18, 2020

Cypress Hill will be performing together for the very first time since COVID-19 restrictions were put into place.

The livestream concert takes place this Friday, June 19 exclusively on the MelodyVR app. The set was filmed entirely with 360-degree video technology allowing fans to get a unique view of the group.

Cypress Hill will be performing some of their best known hits including “Insane In The Brain,” “How I Could Just Kill A Man,” and “Rock Superstar.”

“When we were approached to perform for our fans again, we jumped on it. We definitely wanted to give them a unique experience with this intimate show,” the band said in a statement.

The group’s last album came in 2018 when they released their ninth full-length record Elephants On Acid.

Fans who aren’t able to watch the June 19 livestream will be able to watch their show in its entirety on-demand on June 25 on the MelodyVR app.

MelodyVR has already featured artists like John Legend, Zella Day, The Score, DaniLeigh, and more as part of their Live from LA series. The company plans on announcing more performers in the coming weeks.

Cypress Hill joins a long list of artists that have offered live concert streams during the coronavirus pandemic.

As concerts have been put on hold for the foreseeable future, artists are taking unique measures to stay connected to their fans. From performing in their own homes, getting together for a socially-distanced jam session, there’s plenty of examples of artists sharing their music with fans.
